Joaquim Chancho was born 1943 in Ruidoms, Spain. Joaquim Chancho began his artistic path from the representation of architectural landscapes and arboreal themes, influenced by informalism. His works abound in dense brushstrokes with a two-dimensional character. His technique has been changing over the years, making the artist explore different ways: pictorial sedimentations, juxtaposed chromatic ranges, directionality... Chancho has been awarded several prizes, among which stands out the Painting Prize of the Biennial of Tarragona in 1987.
